Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 frying pan

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp avocado oil (and some extra for frying)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or your favorite spices)
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • A bunch of fresh parsley
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Rinse and drain the chickpeas if using canned.
  • In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, almond flour, eggs, avocado oil, parsley, garlic powder, sweet paprika, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture is well combined and forms a thick dough-like consistency.
  • Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • While the mixture is resting, heat a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of avocado oil.
  • Form the chickpea mixture into patties of your desired size.
  • Carefully place the patties in the heated skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Once cooked, transfer the patties to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve the chickpea patties warm with your favorite dipping sauce or as desired. Enjoy!
  • P.S. Alternatively, you can bake the patties in the oven 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the patties are golden brown and cooked through.
